We haven't gotten too much planning done, but we do think we would like to be married in the month of October. It's my favorite time of year when all the leaves are changing color, and it will be a little cooler so the gentlemen don't get sweaty in their suits. :)
We also have begun looking at locations, thinking of colors and contacting photographers. :)
One thing we don't have to worry about? Cake! Sarah, my future sister-in-law has agreed to make our cakes for us!!! Now, if I haven't mentioned before, Sarah is an AMAZING baker. She makes beautiful, and ridiculously tasty cakes, cupcakes, deserts and candies. A modern day Martha Stewart this one! (She's Sarah Rae, a blogger on apartment therapy and thekitchn.com!)
These were her homemade salted bacon caramels from the American Royal Competition. If one judge hadn't marked her down she would have made top 10 no problem! here
Carrot Cupcakes with candied carrot and cream cheese frosting. She made these for my moms Suprise 50th Birthday Party!
Dark Chocolate & Fig Ice Cream here
Homemade brownie bites. here
Speaking of bacon....Candied Bacon Fudge here
Avocado ice cream here
Turkey cupcakes for Thanksgiving!
Pomengranate cheesecake she helped Spencer make
One-Bowl Mascarpone Brownies here
There aren't too many actual cakes pictured here, but that's because most of the time when she makes a cake it's gone before anyone remembers to pull out the camera!!! She's even going to let us do a little taste test. :) I'm thinking we'll have one little cute, small, 2 tier cutie that we can put a topper on and cut into at the reception, and then have a few other cakes...hmmm carrot? Red Velevet? Chocolate? Poppy Seed? The possibilities are endless!!

You have NO IDEA how hungry you're making me! Delish!
Does she bake for a living? Or have a shop in KC? If not she should. I was drooling by the end of this post. And I love how she incorporates bacon into things. My hubby would love it. I got him a maple bacon sucker for his stocking this year. Ha!
oooooh.... I think the most exciting part about getting married would be picking out the cake!! Yummy!!
So... in honor of your fabulous engagement, I left a bloggie award for you on my post tonight. AND it features cupcakes, which seems perfect since you're thinking about wedding cakes and treats!! Hooray!
