Spencer and I woke-up to Mia needing to go outside at 6a.m. and were greeted with a fresh blanket of THICK snow... This is our back patio completely covered in cold white snow, with more coming down!!! (even as I type this, 24 hours later, the snow hasn't stopped!!!)
We turned on the news and watched as they warned everyone to stay inside and only travel if it was absolutely necessary. I was a little worried that we wouldn't get to go to my moms house later in the day...but Spencer promised me he would do everything in his power to make sure I see my mom. At about 6:30 we went into the living room for presents! We started with stockings for ourselves and the girls and then spencer said he had another one for the girls. He pulled a box out from under the tree, unwrapped it and pulled out new collars and tags!!! He put them on and then as I was petting the girls and telling them how pretty they were he told me to read the new tags they had on... I looked down at the little bone shaped ID that Betty was wearing and the words "Ring Bearer" were engraved!
I scrambled over to Mia's and read "Flower Girl" and flipped it the other side where "Jennifer & Spencer Schaub" was engraved!!
I then turned around to Spencer who had taken a small box out of its hiding place on the bookcase. Wrapped perfectly I opened the box (after a little bit of struggling and frustration...haha. dang thing was stuck together!) and out fell a little white jewelry box. I opened it up and inside it was the most beautiful ring I have ever seen in my life!
...and then Spencer asked me to be his wife. I cried, we laughed and I stared at the ring for the next several minutes. It was an absolutely perfect moment and I still get those little knots in my stomach, and butterflies churning about, when I think about it!
We are engaged!!! I am going to be Mrs. Jennifer Schaub and I couldn't be more excited!!!!!! ...although, it still doesn't even feel real!!! We have an entire wedding to plan now! (We're thinking October 2010) and starting monday my butt is going to be back at the gym for sure!
It's just so perfect!
We made it to my moms house and I got to show off the ring to the family and celebrate with a nice champagne toast and a wonderful christmas dinner. :)
