I am a Rockstar!

Last night I went out to dinner with my very good friend, and bridesmaid, Steph! We met up at a new restaurant in town called...

Isn't that the cutest name?

Anyways, the food was AMAZING and very reasonably priced! I had a wonderful caesar salad with fresh parmegiano-regiano and a turkey and sun-dried tomato grilled wrap. It was fantastic!
The most amazing thing happened when I had first arrived however! I pulled into the new Town Center Plaza shopping area where the restaurant was located and there was no parking available. I drove around for a little bit and found one spot on the side of the building....a parallel parking spot right between a shiny BMW, and another nice car...I held my breathe a little and decided to go for it! Now, I don't think any of you know this about me...but I am terrified of parallel parking. I lived on the Kansas City plaza for almost 2 years and about 50% of the parking down there is parallel! I would walk from a pretty far distance to get home if it meant avoiding the dreaded concept of parallel parking....
But last night, I held my breath...pulled up next to the car in front and slowly backed into the spot. I stopped turned the wheel and pulled forward to get in a little closer, stopped and turned the wheel one more time and slowly backed up to fit perfectly! People were even waiting for me to do it, which always makes me sooo nervous! but...Look at that!! PERFECT!

ROCKSTAR!

You are a rockstar!!!
Parallel parking is the worst!
One thing I hated about living in NYC for 4 months was that - people park bumper to bumper - one lady literally bumped me while I was still in my car from just pulling in, while she pulled in front of me. Craziness.

OMG, I am SO with you on the parallel parking, I still hate doing it....my car is smaller than yours AND I would still need a bigger space I drove to a friend's recently and had to get her husband to come out and park the car for me!!!

You ARE a rockstar!!! Woo hoo! xo

I avoid parallel parking too!
I'm glad to see you put your big girl pants on! Kudos for doing such a good job! =)

I dropped Chris off at the ship last night, and made him back out of the parking spot because there was a big truck close behind in another spot and I didn't want to hit it! I however.. did not have my big girl pants on! =(

Girl not only are you a rockstar, but you're a badass one at that! Waaay to go! I cannot cannot canNOT parallel park to save my life! I've tried and tried again, but just.can't.do.it. So if you're looking for me, I'll be the girl that has parked 5 blocks away because I just couldn't get my car into the space that the large truck pulling a boat just vacated...

Lol, my dad rocks with stuff like that, and so far it's the only thing he never passed down to me. I'm still working on it! But I do LOVE parking backwards into a spot between two cars and doing it speedy and such and still ending up perfectly without any fixing. Isn't it fun and satisfying?! And they say girls can't drive!

I've got to deal with the female-driver stereotype AND the Asian-driver stereotype! But lemme tell ya, I'm freakin' gooooood. :D
