Looking Past the Lens

Sometimes you just need to remind yourself to love who you really are.

Sometimes life is hard, it knocks us down and it leaves bruises. Sometimes we just need a reminder to love ourselves. To remember back to our childhood’s with the world laid out in front of us knowing we could take it all on and come out perfect on the other side unscathed, unbruised and undeniably happy.
It is my hope that "Looking Past the Lens" will help to remind each of us what it is we love about ourselves and hopefully put a little smile on everyone's face.

Every Tuesday I will ask you to answer four questions.
1. What is one thing that you love about yourself today?
2. What is one thing that you just can't stop smiling about?
...this can be a person, a song, a photograph, a quote...the possibilities are endless!
3. A moment recently where you felt truly special.
4. A personal goal for the upcoming week.

I would also like to share your stories. Stories of triumph, moments of success, tales of people who have reached their goals and want to pat themselves on the back for a job well done, and inspire others. Each week I hope to open the questions with a story submitted by one of you. So please submit them to me by clicking the e-mail link to the right.
and now, on to the questions!

1. What is one thing that you love about yourself today?
I love the side of my waist today. I have been exercising and working hard, and I can feel the way my muscles in that area are tighter now. The way my skin is taut. And I know it's only the first step toward having a healthy and toned body.
2. What is one thing that you just can't stop smiling about?
I can't stop smiling at an article I read today from NY Magazine stating 50 Steps to Simple Happiness . My favorite says, “Leave your mouth in that slightly upturned position it takes after saying ‘Cheez Whiz.’ It’s a relaxed, confident look that will convince other people you know what you’re doing."
3. A moment recently where you felt truly special.
Just a moment ago, when Spencer agreed that he couldn't wait to tolerate me for the rest of his life. :)
4. A personal goal for the upcoming week.
To go to the gym four more times this week, and to finish the laundry.

Make sure you add your link to the list so people can read your answers!

I am so behind on reading my favorites...

This is an AMAZING idea... Even if I can't play along every week, I will be reading your questions and answering them to myself to remind myself of how much beauty there is in all of us...

You never cease to amaze me...
