The vet called this morning and told us Betty can come home. She's a little achy but doing fine, so we can pick her up at anytime this morning. I know she's got to be so scared as she was lucid the entire time, and already had a fear of the vet.
Mia is doing a little better. Her heart rate her gone back up into the 100's (it was dangerously low around 50 when I got her to the hospital) and her fever has broken.(it was 2 degrees below normal, which on a small dogs is a BIG deal) She does still have a LOT of bloody diarrhea, but the doctor said that its to be expected with what she went through. He said her colon and bowels were just so angry and inflames that they bled and now her body is trying to flush it all out. She is not actively bleeding however. She will be staying at least until the end of the day, and probably longer. We definitly aren't out of the woods yet, but at least we are seeing some sunshine.
Please keep praying for her.
and if you have pets locate where your closest emergency clinic is in the event of an emergency. The closest one to us was almost a 30 minutes drive away, and it took forever for me to track it down. Mia was so sick... if I had been 10 minutes later I am scared she would have died....
