Wishing upon a star for the end of the storm....

Thank you for the thoughts over the past few days...
It's been unbearable...
If there is one more thing that happens
I think i'm going to go nuts!
In 3 months time...
I got laid off from my job
Mia, who is basically like a child to us, almost died
and to top it off...
our basement filled with other people's poo
leaving us with a ridiculous amount of damage...
I really hope that the rainbow at the end of the storm is coming close...
We could really use some good luck...

If there is one thing I can say from all of this though
is that if we can survive this...we can survive anything...

DISCLAIMER: The following is not for the weak of stomach.....

In the last few days we have been dealing with
cleaning, scrubbing, repairing, a LOT of bleach and lots of insurance paperwork....
To give you an idea of how bad it was....

The black crap all over the floor?
Yes, it was actual CRAP...
Disgusting...

The water level rose up over 2 feet...

We had to move everything into our driveway.
The dumpster was filled with furniture, ruined building supplies
pro audio equipment, speakers, art supplies...among other things...

One of the ruined items was a dresser i've had since I was little
a dresser that was handed down from my dad, who used it as a child as well...

By the time we finished we were exhausted...
This is after everything was moved out...
the floors were cleaned
they were sprayed down with bleach
and each item we we able to salvage was then cleaned and brought back in.

The next day, our water heater was repaired
and we finally were able to take hot showers and get rid of the grime.
Today the insurance adjuster came...
we are waiting right now to see how much we are covered for
and crossing our fingers as we wait.

In the meantime, i'm also waiting to hear about a job...
They are supposed to be in touch with a decision this week...
and it's friday...
I really hope some good news comes soon....

oh wow. I'm so sorry. Through all of this I'm glad you are able to stay at least somewhat positive - at least to the extent where you at least can pretend.
I'm so so so so sorry for what happened...and for what HAS happened to you in the past several months. Not everyone would have been able to stay as strong, motivated and together as you have, so be proud; you are a STRONG woman.
Keep your chin up. Your reward is coming soon...I can feel it.

Oh my goodness, what an awful thing to have happen. I hope insurance will cover everything. And I hope you have a restful weekend after this mess!

Ohhh boyyy... There really aren't any words, eh? But at least you've got a cleaned up/freshened up/bleached up basement! Time to roll around down there! :P

Holly Crap!!! (Pun intended)

I'm glad everything is cleaned up and the old saying is definitely true...when it rains it pours.

I'm sending prayers and positive thoughts your way. It can only get better from here!! XOXO
