The best part of waking up...

mmmmm.... Spending most of my week in hotels isn't too bad. The maid cleans up after me, I can turn up the heat without fear of the electric bill and there's typically a breakfast prepared fresh for me just by walking downstairs! The only downfall is the coffee.... it's just never all that great! This morning I am at home, and my fresh-brewed cup of coffee is the perfect way to start my day! Fresh ground beans, the aroma wafting through the kitchen...PERFECT!

These past few weeks have been tough. They have been more involved than most weeks will be because I have been gone monday-friday with only 2 days at home. Most weeks i'll be home on mondays as well for my "office day". So today I am working from home, watching Sex in the City and waiting to hear from my boss. I still don't know where i'm supposed to be this week and i'm thinking I may just be working from home. How fabulous would that be after two very long weeks?!
I can't believe we are already in February! January was crazy, what with starting the new job and all, but it still feels as if it flew by! I am really proud of myself and what i've accomplished so far this year. I love that I have been able to re-focus each week by stating my expectations and working to meet them. It's been satisfying, and it's made me feel like I could take on anything! I have officially finished 9 books this year and started work on number 10! Seven of these have been the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.
What fun books! They are about a girl who loses her job and becomes a bounty hunter to pay her bills. The only problem is that she is horrible at it, and the books keep you laughing, and somtimes get your heart racing! I hear they are turning these into a movie...and it's rumored Katherine Heigel will be playing Stephanie.... I'm not really sure how I feel about that... One of her leading men however?
Totally on board! Hello Ranger!
So far i'm up to book 8, and I have loved each and every one! It's been interesting because the first book was written in the 90's. Filled with Doc Martins, car phones and plaid shirts over Levi's. It's fun to watch fashion, and technology, change as I read through the books!

So if you have been following along with me, you know I decided to follow along with Mara, with small resolutions each week rather than one big one at the start of the year. Love it! Here we go...
Week 6
1. Get back into a gym routine. Hopefully work out at least 2 times this week, and maybe even make it to Zumba if I stay in town!
2. Eat healthy. Avoid Fast food the majority of days and try to eat lots of veggies.
3. Finish up another book! I'm right on track to finish 50 books in 2011, and I don't want to slack off!

So there you have it! I will be checking into all of your blogs this week, and hopefully learning what has been going on in everyone's lives! Coming soon, I may have a little preview of whats been going on in our home lately! Hint: It involves my hubby the artist! Gotta build up that anticipation!!!! Hope everyone is staying warm, and digging yourselves out of the snow from last week!

And I thought I traveled a lot! I can't imagine being gone that much! I actually drink better when I travel because I allow myself chai tea from Starbucks as a reward. :)

I have the same goals when it comes to working out and eating right--I did really well for a couple weeks, but then went out of town this past weekend and all that went down the drain. :) But I'm back on track today, so here's hoping it sticks!

I think staying in hotels is great for a while. Then I long for my own bed and normal routine. Glad you are loving the new job!!! XOXO

good for you for eating healthy while on vacation! when we first got to el paso, it was RIGHT by an arby's. I had it almost every single day lol i justified it because we didn't have a fridge or microwave where we were staying.

Then when we got to our house, it took awhile to get a working stove so we had a jack in the box right down the street... man oh man it was fast food every single day. ugh.

so good for you for eating healthy! :)

and that actor? totally sexy!
