Gardening

This weekend Spencer and I got around to beginning all of the landscaping around our home! We have big plans, but first things first we cleaned out the landscaping area around the big tree in our front yard and filled it with lots of bright pink and purple flowers.

The low laying flowery bush-like plants are planx and they grow out quickly to cover the entire bed with their bright beautiful colors. I can't wait to see them take root and spread out!

Also scattered throughout the bed are purple and pink hyacinths. We got the pink one from Spencer's mom for Easter and bought the purple to add a little more color. I wish we had gotten the pink ones in the ground sooner because they are looking a little puny right now, but I think they will spring back, and if not they will be beautiful next year!
We also got some hanging baskets for our front porch and filled them with beautiful magenta dwarf dahlias! Aren't they beautiful?!


Next up Spencer and I plan to pull out the bushes in front of our house for something a little bit softer/colorful and put in something new along our driveway and along the back porch! I'm thinking maybe just a few hasta's back there
