Mia was all smiles to welcome the beautiful weather we are having. :)

Yesterday we were given hope.

My grandma's test results came back, and they only found inflamed tissue!
While this does not mean she is cancer free, it may mean that the cancer is MUCH smaller than expected.

We will know for sure what we are dealing with next week.

Bendable Wood and Paradise

This has been a tough week. The doctors are 99% sure its lung cancer that my grandma has...so now we wait for the dye test to determine the stage she is in and treasure all of the moments spent with her... I am staying positive. I'm just not ready to say good-bye, and I know that she isn't either... Either way, it's going to be a long month and I need to keep my mind busy. So enough sadness, on to some happy things.

Flowers & Coasters & Lions, Oh My!

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Personally, I slept for a large portion of it... but I did get to visit my in-laws for some late birthday love and Spencer took me out for yogurt! All in all, not a bad time. :)

Tonight i'm going out for dinner with my mom and grandma. I got some horrible news last week and tomorrow grandma goes in for testing to see if it's true.... Any good thoughts and kind words you can send would be greatly appreciated! She's one of the sweetest people in my world and I can only hope to stay as kind as her as I age and live life. 

To keep my mind occupied I spent a lot of time exploring pretties and fun things online. The result is that I have a lot of fun new things to try out! Sooooo, without further ado....

Today I Love.

Paper Flowers! I plan to stop by the craft store tonight to pick up some pretty supplies. I have been stumped on how to get some "plantlife" in my office. I don't have any windows, but flowers would really brighten up the place. Now I will have flowers to bring in some whimsy and fun that I don't have to worry about watering! I'll hopefully be able to pose some photos soon!

Denver, Bok Choy and Harry Potter!

Happy Tuesday

This week seems to already be moving along quickly and it's a beautiful day! I am having dinner with three friends tonight and I think it should be a good time. Sadly, the reason for the impromptu get-together is that my friend found out her boyfriend of 8 years cheated on her in the home they share... poor girl. He was not a good guy, but its still terrible for her to have it end this way...

In other news I will be going to Denver soon! My firm merged with a firm there and I am one of the lucky ones who gets to head out for the celebration reception! YAY! I just LOVE Denver. Bonus: My old boss lives there and I am hoping I will get the chance to visit her from time to time. :)

The only bad thing upsetting me today is that America's Got Talent isn't on this week. I love my little Tuesday ritual, and i'm sad i'll have to wait until next week to become lost in some great talent! It's my summer obsession :)

Today I Love...

Bok choy!

How on earth could I not know about this delicious little leafy green treat? I sauteed it with some chicken and garlic for dinner the other night. DELICIOUS! (and nutritious) and did I mention its super simple and fast to prepare? 15 minutes and it was to the table!

Today I love...

This print!

This weekend Sex in the City was playing non-stop, and I think I watched the movie 3x through. The first time I saw it I fell in LOVE with the Love Too print by Paul Smith in Carrie's apartment, and seeing the movie again reminded me of that... sadly, I can't afford the $3125 price tag! So, what is a girl to do? Recreate it of course! I plan to recreate this print but change it a little. For instance, I don't believe mine will have a British flag in it :) I can't wait to get started on it and I'm so excited to have it hanging in my office :)

Today I do NOT love...and a few things I do :)

Ok, so I read the 40 Shades of Gray books months ago... and ladies, i'm not a huge fan. There are 1000's of other books out there that are better written and have more of a storyline. The first book alone is just shock value... and I worry about the 12 year olds out there who are secretly reading it and thinking that a good relationship goal is to find a sexy man and do anything to keep him because he makes you tingle... geesh. Do they really have to have this book next to the YA fiction at Target? Come on people.

But I digress..
The problem I am having today is about Emma Watson being rumored to play the lead in the movie! I hope this is not correct news... I just can't handle seeing sweet, enchanting Emma in a red room of pain! sigh...

But on to some happier news, here are a few things which I AM loving today!

Today I love...

This week has been CRAZY! I spent monday in a different city for work, celebrating turning 28 on Tuesday and laid around going crazy about how hot it was yesterday! Today, Spencer headed out for 2 days with his friends in Chicago, and I am officially crazy dog mom and lounging lady :) although I will have to get through a little thing called work first. :) PS- It's FREEZING in my office! How does one dress for 105 outside and 65 inside?! Yeesh!

Well, enough complaining. :) Life is good and through all the crazy it's been fabulous. My birthday was A-MAZING and Spencer bought me beautiful roses, followed by a lovely dinner at Julian (owned by last seasons Top Chef Masters contestant Celina Tio!) where I had a lemon arugala salad, seared sea scallops with portobello mushrooms and an AMAZING chocolate ganache. mmmmm I am salivating just thinking about it :)

Overall its been a perfect week... but i'm ready for Friday! In the meantime, I feel the time has come to show you a few of the things I am loving today...

Today I love...

 I feel laid back and easy going today...which might be why these BEAUTIFUL photographs by Audrey Yakovlev appeal to me so much. I want to go lay around in a field wearing beautiful colorful silk dresses too!

And then there is this absolutely stunning bag from Reed Krakoff... too bad I can't afford the $1600 price tag! sigh... it really is gorgeous... Maybe they sell just the green tag and I can play dress-up with my $50 Limited purse. :)

But perhaps the thing I am most loving today is this...

That's right... in 3 months Spencer and I will be taking a vacation to San Francisco!!! I am so excited I can hardly stand it! I want to see the redwoods, explore Chinatown, tour Alcatraz, ride in a street car and do all of the things that scream tourist! I can't wait!

It's Friday! I just adore fridays, and today is even better because we get to wear jeans on this Friday the 13th! YAY for jeans! Also, I get to celebrate my birthday with my family this weekend. It's not until the 24th, but my moms was the 9th so we like to split the difference. Crab legs and presents are in my future! :)
