Don't cry for me.

Yesterday at 11:00 I was pulled into a conference room and laid off.
I am now in the process of fine-tuning my resume and preparing to step back into the world of searching for a job. In the end it's a good thing. I now have 3 years of experience, i'm 5 classes into a masters degree and I know what i'm looking for.

Don't cry for me. I will land on my feet. I have strength and determination to not just become another statistic from this horrible economic downturn.

I'm taking my lemons, and i'm making lemonade.

But you may have to excuse me from the blog world for a few days. my heart just isn't here right now.

Dude that sucks! This economy is an evil bitch! Sounds like you have a positive attitude which is the best thing. I'm sure you'll find something even better soon. Best of luck!

so sorry to hear about this!
unfortunately thats just the way the economy is going, if you dont feel it was a fair dismissal then take them to court for unfair dismissal or constructive dismissal!! xxx

That stinks! But your attitude is impressive. Thinking about you! Good luck on the job search.

Oh honey! Totally take time to take care of you, whatever that means for you at this time. You definitely will land on your feet, but it's also totally natural to feel a little heartbroken.

Here's to very tasty lemonade! : )

I've come over from 'The Bottom of the Ironing Basket' to have a mosey around.
Oh ouch. Being laid off is rather inconvenient, however, as others have pointed out, you have a great outlook and plenty of positivity, big bonuses. So you can kick-start the CV, maybe do a bit more wedding planning than you'd have been able to and spend more time with your darling man. All good things in my book!

I like my lemonade made with cane sugar syrup and fizzy water. I drink a LOT...

Warm hugs and quiches from Kitty

I'm not sure if my comment went thru...so I will try this again.
I am so sorry! But when one door closes, a few more open. I am hoping this is going to be something that is a blessing and you find a job that is better and good luck on your masters! Proud of you!

You've got the right attitude Jenni and I always tell myself that it's because there are better things that lie ahead for me. I just don't know it yet. Must admit that at times it certainly does not feel that way.
Simone is a good friend and she wanted all of us to wish you well. Congrat's on grad school & congrat's on your engagement. Much to look forward too.

All the very best ~ deb

Simone suggested I come over for a visit. I wish I had some glorious words of wisdom for you...but unfortunately I do not. Why did I come over then?? To commiserate with you...no... I will just say keep your chin up ~ things WILL get better and add a splash of rum to that lemonade!!

I don't know you, and this is the first time I have come to your blog. I found you through the Bright Side Project - you won the Kelly Moore Camera Bag! What perfect timing! I first came over here to check out the person that I am so jealous off because she won such a cool bag, but now I have read your post, and your positivity is inspiring. I hate to admit it, but you deserve that bag! Congrats, girl!
