Moments from last week...

As all of you know I started my new job this week. I had quite an interesting time, hearing lots of funny things and really going outside of my comfort zone...to sum up the week... here are some things that happened...
I am apparently a natural when it comes to babies. I photographed around 25 newborns this week, and every single one of them I was able to soothe and relax with very little effort. They all squirmed a bit as we placed them in poses, but within seconds they were back in their cozy little moods and looking like little angels. Just call me "The baby whisperer"
The connection between twins is amazing! We photographed a set of twins. One (baby A) had gone home already and came back up to see his brother (baby B) as he was released and sent home. Baby A was so sweet, and he wrapped his arm around baby B in every photo. It almost seemed as if he was protecting him! So sweet!
It truly is amazing to be surrounded by so many happy people and new life. I myself don't want to be a mother for many more years, but to be able to immerse myself in such an amazing world is a wonderful gift.
There are definitely no secrets, and I will be seeing more than my share of boobs. When baby is hungry, mom is going to breastfeed! :)
It's not always sweet babies and warm fuzzies. In one room we were talking to the mother saying things along the lines of, "Is this your first?" and "It must be nice to be able to stay in this warm room with it so cold outside" (it was snowing) The mother replied to everything saying it was torture, and she was never going to do it again. She wasn't even cuddling her little newborn, but rather just holding him like a football while she watched "The Real Housewives".... It takes all kinds...
One daddy made me laugh as we commented "oh, he has beautiful red hair!" and he immediately went "No he doesn't!" almost offended....Not sure of the story on that one....
I am going to be in shape in no time! Hospitals are huge, and quickly walking between rooms and floors, as well as being on my feet all day, is going to show pretty quickly! Add in the gyms I'll have access to from hotels and I am good to go!

I really love my job so far. Everyone I have met has been incredibly nice, and I really feel like everyone has the same goal in mind of creating beautiful images. It just feels great to be part of such a wonderful group of people! I can't wait to head out on monday to meet a few more! I'm sure they will be wonderful and a great part of the team!

It's starting to snow here right now, so cross your fingers for me that I don't get snowed in! Tomorrow we're going to lunch at Red Lobster for my grandmothers birthday, and then i'll be coming home to pack my bags! Check back tomorrow for an early edition of my weekly resolutions!!! (and an update on how well I did with this weeks!)
Keep warm everyone, and have a wonderful Sunday!

Jenni

Glad to hear you're doing so well with work! :D I have to admit, I know I was going through a rough patch with work last year, but things are looking so much better (esp after a recent review where I learned my boss apparently LOVES me, lol).

I saw the CUTEST baby at bowling tonight. I'd forget it was my turn to bowl because I'd watch her daddy play with her and she'd smile with her big fat baby cheeks! :D
