Working :)

I am officially 2 weeks in at my new job, and I’m really enjoying it. My boss is really sweet and funny and I enjoy working with her. My co-workers are very nice and my days seem to go be very quickly. So far I’ve gotten to do a little bit of design work, I’ve tried my hand at writing and I’m in the process of getting to know everyone and memorizing names of people in each department. Its mind numbing the amount of information I have been digesting…but it’s worth it

Bonus: Just heard from my boss that my first writing piece was perfect! YAY! I was soooo nervous! Writing is something I haven’t done in a corporate setting yet, so it was my scariest new project to start working on!

My office is really cute and I like it a lot. I can listen to music at a low volume without bothering anyone, I can turn out overhead fluorescent lighting because it drives me crazy and I get to decorate it to fit my style. Right now I have:

A little black mirror, a few picture frames scattered throughout,

an apothecary jar filled with dark chocolate almonds (via Trader Joes)…

These ridiculously cute butterfly push-pins…

and this beautiful print by Adam Turman will be joining soon!

Now I need at least one other large piece, and maybe a square piece to make it feel like a home away from home… so exciting!

Other than work there isn’t too much going on. It’s stinking hot here in KC so I’ve been trying to stay inside as much as possible. I did make it to the gym yesterday though, and I’m planning to try and make it 3-4 times per week. It’s tough to motivate myself after a long day at work, but I always feel awesome when I’m done.

Note to self: I need to remember to take my sunglasses off of the top of my head once I get to the gym. So far I have twice gotten looks of confusion from fellow gym goers as I bob up and down at the elliptical machine with my sunglasses perched precariously on my head. You would think someone would say something… but they just stare!
