Wags and Woofs

We had an absolutely glorious weekend filled with some dog-gone good times!
Friday We went to the Royal and had some yummy bbq. Spencer's family was there so we hung out, ate food and then walked around to people watch. I really don't understand why some girls feel its necessary to wear skinny jeans, sparkly tops and jeans to an outdoor bbq event where you walk on gravel most of the time! I think I looked much cuter in my brown v-neck hoodie and a pink scarf. It was cold out!
Saturday Spencer and I woke up early and got dressed. At 8:30 I photographed a family at the local park and he walked the dogs around and waited for me to get done. They did really well on leashes! After I finished photographing we headed out to the dog park to meet up with Zach, Sarah and their lovely fur-balls Lola and Wilbur. The dogs all romped together and had a good time! By the time we left they were exhausted! We took them home and went out to run some errands. We went to the re-store where I found a chair and cabinet for the office (photos to come later) and bundles of metal studs for $5 each! (typically they are $5 for each piece and we got 10 in a bundle!) Spencer plans to put some walls in our basement so we can divide it up into separate sections rather than just a big garage. :)
I also found the perfect halloween costumes for the girls!!!! Spencer has always had the nickname "Turtle" because he kind of looks like a turtle and he can be a little slow-moving at times. He always says i'm a squirrel because i'm so high energy and it was my college sorority mascot. Well, we found turtle and squirrel costumes for the dogs and bought them up right away!!!
The turtle costume was too small so we had to return it and buy the right size online...but the squirrel fit Betty PERFECTLY!

I can't wait for the turtle costume to come in! It was COLD saturday night so we pulled out the sweaters once the costume fitting was over. Betty took right to her sweater, and curled up for a good long nap on Spencer lap!

sleepy little girl....

Mia on the other hand was a little more restless....

...she eventually got comfortable though and settled in for a long sleep...

Sunday we celebrated Spencer's birthday. We woke-up and went out for a bit. We ended up buying Mia a new frisbee. She had found one she really liked at the dog park and we had been looking everywhere for one that matched it...

Mia loved it and she pranced around the yard showing it off
...but Betty got a little jealous....

so we decided to head down to the PetsMart down the street. It's not too far so we walked and the girls spent every moment trying to grab acorns, spikeyballs and anything else that blew across their path. Betty picked out a new tennis ball/bone. She pretty much grabbed it out of my hand when I put it down for her to sniff! We also picked up some new bacon/pork flavored rawhides. When we got home we had another small playtime with Betty's new bone.

and then it was time for some bones...

After playtime Spencer and I headed out for a date night. We had a wonderful dinner at Spin pizza with a chicken & goat cheese pizza and a spinach salad on the side. mmm our favorite! After that we went and saw ZombieLand which was suprisingly good! In fact, I think it might be my favorite movie so far this year! It was absolutely hilarious and scary at the same time...which is not an easy feat! Best line of the movie... " I'm so excited! You're about to find out who you' gotta call!" haha guess you'll have to go see it to find out what that means!!!!!
