I wanted to cry...and then....

Terrible, HORRIBLE, no good, VERY BAD night! I got out of work at 5:00 and rushed to get out to school by 5:30. I hit traffic and saw at least 5 police cars and 2 different accidents. I was in such a hurry I never ate anything, thinking that my meeting was only going to last for an hour or so! I was meeting with my group to discuss our final project. We present on wednesday night and i'm doing all of the slide layout. It was EXHAUSTING. lots of changes and re-organization....it was so frustrating! You are not a designer...please slow down and realize that design takes time and I can't just slap changes around within a few seconds!
Before I knew it it was 8:00....I hadn't eaten, I had been sitting in a room for hours listening to people squabble over commas and I wanted to go home. I saved my InDesign document and we all left to head home. I was so excited to leave! Driving home I called Spencer, who agreed to make me my absolute favorite for dinner! (yup, grilled cheese. Ooey, gooey grilled cheese made with 3 different kinds of cheese with a side of tomato soup! mmmmmmmmm)
and then something happened.... and it made a horrifying turn...

As Spencer made my sandwich, I prepared to turn on my laptop. My battery died about a year ago and so i've been relying on plugging it into the wall. I plugged it in...and nothing happened.. The wire had blown a fuse!!!! It was dead!
Crazy thoughts started stirring in my head and I hit panic mode... My project was on my computer... I was the only one with the document... it had taken me 2 days to design!...it was a group project...they were going to kill me! My poor computer! I started thinking of solutions...go buy a new cord over lunch tomorrow? NOPE I have an old mac and they don't carry my plug-in at the mac store! I would have to order it! Would it arrive in time!?
Suddenly I decided to try one more time....I plugged it in and the cord sparked! We saw where the problem was..... and Spencer turned into a Mad Scientist... He had to cut the cord in half to fix it, but there was a small chance it wouldn't work. I held my breath as he cut it in half and then began fusing it all back together again. I couldn't concentrate. In my head I was still freaking out and completely about to lose it. It was way too much to handle! I was going to fail school, I was going to have to go up to work and start recreating it again.... should I put on clothes for work and shower? I probally wouldn't be able to get back home to change. I. was. a WRECK!
I turned on Kate & Leopold and turned my attention to the beautiful Hugh Jackman as I worried myself silly...and then Spencer came in the room with a taped-up cord. We held out breath as he plugged it in and.........
HUZZAH!!!!! The light came on!!!!!!! The reign of terror was ended! I saved my presentation, gave the girls a kiss and couldn't stop smiling!
And then I got more great news! I won a calendar from Marta of m.writes !!!

Isn't it lovely? I can't wait to hang it up in my little office! :) I think that December the 8th is turning out to be a pretty great day so far. :)
Love you all! I hope everyone elses day turns out as great as mine and all your wishes come true!

oh man, you had me so worried for a second! i am sooo glad that you got it to start working! spencer is awesome :) i have a mac too that had that same problem. i finally demanded a new battery. they were hesitant at first but i told them i heard there had been a recall but wasnt ever informed of it by mac in an email. so they gave me a new battery. then my friend borrowed my charger cuz hers fried? and it fried too. i worry about those macs. anyway, i am sorry it was a bad night! but i am glad it worked out and you have spencer and grilled cheese sandwiches, and kate and leopold. and your awesome new calender! wahoo!
