Spring has arrived!

A crazy snowstorm hit this weekend and covered the ground in slush and a good 6" of snow in some places! It was a little scary to say the least and as I drove around town going to my moms house and a hair appointment, I couldn't help but wish I was home with my snuggly blanket watching a good movie. I did make it home alive however and i'm glad to say that the tulips outside my front door survived near death from frost as well!

It was a very eventful weekend despite the snow and I got a lot done! Friday I finally went out and bought my new running shoes at the Nike store. I really love them and they support my crazy high arches! After that we went and saw Monsters vs. aliens in 3D which pretty much was the best movie I have seen in a LONG time! It was fantastic! Funny, creative, attention grabbing and I got to wear some sexy 3D specs!

Saturday I took some beautiful photos of Collin at my moms house. I'll post a few later on. He's so patient and just laid there as I captured photo after photo.

I wish the weekend had lasted a little longer, but alas it had to end. Luckily this week is starting out great! In just an hour I will be eating some delicious frozen treats. A celebration of how great it is to work here at Burns & McDonnell!
I knew I worked here for some reason...
Ice Cream!!!

Thursdays are fantastic. Grays Anatomy is on tonight, and tomorrow is friday! I'm really excited for the weekend to start. I am finally getting my hair done (It needs it bad) on saturday afternoon and we're going to go see Monsters Vs. Aliens! I am super excited to see it! Sunday Andi & Jason will hopefully be in town and so Spencer and I are going to mom's house to spend time wih Collin and have a little photoshoot. Andi says he's grown quite a bit in the past 2 weeks, so i'm really excited to see him! Bonus, I have lost 2 lbs. since my last weigh-in! YAY!

In other news I am totally inspired by this new photographer! His name is Rinze Van Brug and his work is absolutely beautiful!

Whenever I get married I would love to do our engagement photos in this fashion. Although, maybe a little bit happier..... haha

I also ran across the best new instructional website called "Calligraphy 101".

It teaches you a "semi-homemade" way to create beautiful calligraphy. The blog writer said she was inspired by the show "Semi-homemade with Sandra Lee" and decided to incorporate it into design. For full instructions go to http://withthisringwedding.blogspot.com/2008/11/calligraphy-101.html
I may just have to practice up and start a side business of printing calligraphy for wedding invitations. Could be a great way to bring in a little extra income!

Changes are coming.

I started Sparkpeople today. I want to lose 2 sizes by the first week of August. I really think I can do it. I'm monitoring what I eat and making sure I am getting lots of fruits and veggies.
My favorite lunch treat right now is a whole-wheat tortilla with baby lettuce, cherry tomatoes and a little sliced turkey. mmm muey bien!

In one month if i've kept up with everything i'm going to reward myself with a little bit of tanning.. It's a great way to unwind after a good workout. (As long as it's not all the time!)

Tuesdays...

Tuesdays are long days for me. This Tuesday in particular is a lifetime long. It's only lunchtime and i'm sleepy. I've been at work since 7am and I will most likely stay until 6pm. I'm making up some time from my journey to Joplin to meet Collin. :)
Speaking of Collin, here's another photo!

After I leave tonight I get to go to class. I have another paper due, but luckily it was one of the easier papers for the semester and only took me a few hours to complete. So far I have gotten A's on everything and I am on the path to getting an A for the whole semester! It's the first time in a long time that i've been a "straight-A student"! I think i'm getting the hang of this thing they call marketing!

Things getting me through the day on this blustery tuesday...

Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate w/a shot of espresso. Non-fat- so I don't have to feel bad while looking at my Shape Magazine...

CACTUS PUPPIES! Ok, so i'm not THAT into the whole toy design movement, but I just absolutely love these little cactus pups! I got the pink one in Chicago and Zach & Sarah suprised me on saturday with the black one! I was really excited about both of these because when you buy them they come in a sealed box and you don't know what you are going to get! I ended up getting lucky and got the pink one, which represents me....and then Zach and Sarah happened to pick the Spencer one! They sit under my computer here at work and make me smile when I look at them. :) Now I need a Zach and a Sarah!

Speaking of Chicago...I miss it... Here are some fun images from our Chicago journey!

This was the lovely green river which greeted us on our first day there! (It was St. Patricks Day weekend.)

This is Spencer. He doesn't like getting his photograph taken.

Here we are in front of the giant reflective bean! (Told you he doesn't like getting his picture taken!)

And last but not least....

In the bean again. Yeah, we're pretty cute.

And now, I am back to work!

Collin Mitchell Osiek

I would like to introduce you to my new little nephew, Mr. Collin Mitchell Osiek!

Collin arrived on March 12th at 12:18am. He is a BIG boy! He weighs 10.2 pounds and is 21 3/4" long! (I think he takes after his daddy! Mommy and Baby are both doing very well, and i'm so glad I was able to go up to Joplin to see them and Collin in his first moments!

whistle while you work....

So every other monday I take photographs of new employees. THey sit at a small table and smile.

This morning a guy came in and I pointed at the chair to say "Have a seat, please" .....yeah....yeah, he sat on the table....
