EEK!

I was so busy yesterday writing about pigeons and pink casts that I completely forgot it was thursday, and therefor sunny-side-up thursdays! haha, well it has felt like friday since Tuesday.....made for a VERY long week.

So, without further ado, here is my Sunny Side Up! this week

1. Pacing the Panic Room Ryan, the guy who writes this blog is wonderful. He writes candidly, vividly and I love hearing his viewpoints on the ways the world works. Besides the fact that his kids are freaking adorable!

2. New floors. Our floors are absolutely GORGEOUS and have changed the feel of our entire house! Unfortunately, my camera is completely buried since we moved everything we own into the kitchen while the floors were getting re-finished. I plan to take photos this weekend and "unveil" them to you all on monday!

3. Photography Now that photography is my full-time job I started to lose passion for it. Recently my passion has been re-ignited however and I have been taking photographs like crazy!

4. Mia's bathroom behavior. Ok, this may be TMI but when we leave for the day we put Mia into the bathroom. She isn'tpotty trained yet, and we dont want her having accidents everywhere. Well the last few days I have come home she has been doing something strange, that makes me angry and makes me laugh at the same time! She has been unrolling the roll of toilet paper. I open the door and it's piled ALL over the floor! Then I look closer and its not just toilet paper. Monday she had a little poop and she completely wrapped the poop in toilet paper! it was rolled up tightly, nice and neat so I could just pick it up and drop it in the toilet! Then yesterday she had done the same thing on a spot that she had pottied! hmmmmm, maybe we'll teach her to get it in the toilet and flush now!

5. Grocery Shopping. I saved $50 yesterday by clipping coupons and watching for sales!

6. End-of-season sales We bought a BEAUTIFUL wooden bench and table from World Market this past weekend at 50% off! They are both sitting out on our patio, and look so lovely! Now I just need a big umbrella and the set will be complete! :)

7. Half-days! I've worked through lunch 3 days this week and have to again today. The plus side....I get to go home at 1:30!!!!!!

Happy Friday-Side-Up everyone!

August 27, 2009

I would like to thank all the pigeons.

I am so honored today to announce that the lovely K. Law has awarded me with my second blog award!

The Premium Meme Award!

...as long as I fulfill a few tasks anyways. First I need to tell a few little fun tidbits about myself that everyone doesn't know yet! Second, I have to pass on the love to a few more deserving ladies out there in the blog world. And, to that I say.....
Piece of cake!

So without further ado here are a few lesser known, and very important (ha), facts about moi.

1. I am a camel. I don’t even bother with regular glasses. I use a huge Adidas plastic sports bottle for my water at home, and I still end up filling it 2-3 times between the hours of 6 & 10. I can’t even begin to imagine how bad it will be whenever I end up pregnant. Yeesh!

2. I sprained my arm in kindergarten, and then proceeded to break it in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. In high school when I would reminisce with Elementary School friends they said I was known as “the girl with the broken arm.” Although one girl did admit to being jealous of my hot pink casts!

3. I love the water. I can swim, float, stand or just soak in water for hours and I feel entirely at home and confidant. I used to wish I could be a mermaid, but would always change my mind because I couldn’t figure out how they went to the bathroom.

4. I love the color pink. I mean LOVE. When I was growing up I got to decorate my own room and picked pink carpet, pink wallpaper, pink bedding and pink curtains. I LOVED pink. And this was back in the 90’s when Pink was entirely un-cool. I always stuck by the color and it annoys me now when other people talk about how it has always been there favorite color….and they are the same people who used to make fun of me for it!

5. I am terrified when I’m home alone. I freak out at every little noise and I swear that someone is going to break-in and tie me up while Spencer is away.

6. I have a hard time spending $25 on a necklace when I’m out shopping. It seems so overpriced! If I find one on Etsy however for that same price…it’s a steal! I guess I think its ok when I know the money is going to an artist who put their own time and care into the jewelry.

7. When I was little my mom rescued a pigeon from a hungry cat. She had a hurt wing and couldn’t get away. We took it home with us and I named it Emily after my pre-school best friend. My dad took Emily outside everyday and we would watch her try to spread her wings. One day she did, without warning, and my heart broke a little as I watched her fly away. Over the years I have often thought back to Emily the Pigeon and wondered how her life turned out. I picture her living in a big green tree with a Mr. and a couple of babies….although, I imagine she really spent her life eating out of trashcans and pooping on things.

R.I.P. Emily

I would like to pass on the love to....

From Me to You

You ladies are great and I love reading all about your adventures, thoughts and feelings. :)

Habits

The lovely Nina over at Naturally Nina listed some of her habits today and it made me want to list mine as well, and self reflect upon them.

So here they are, in all of their honest glory:

habits of mine i like:

- my thirst for knowledge
- my motivation to keep pushing myself
- seeing possibilities in the, supposedly, impossible
- the way I smile at the most mundane things
- the curiosity of always wanting to know what is behind the door
- my need to have things in order

habits of mine i'd like to wish away:

- Being perpetually late to work wishing the minutes would slow down!
- biting my nails... almost there!
- grabbing a pint of ice cream and it being gone before I realize it.
- letting my laundry pile grow until I have no clean underwear
- worrying about anything and everything each night before I go to sleep
- my need to have things in order

habits i'd like to adopt:

- a daily work-out
- the drive to get-up-and-go
- waking up early enough to have a relaxing breakfast
- reading for 30 minutes each night before bed
- making time on the weekends to snuggle before we start the day

Now it's your turn. What are your quirks and habits? The good...and the not so good.

School is Cool!

I start my 3rd semester of Grad School today! I can’t believe how quickly the semesters are flying by! My class this semester is, “Fundamentals of Marketing Communications”. It is the first class they want you to take in my degree program, but it’s only offered in the Fall and this is my first fall semester! I’m really excited for the class and I hear the teacher is fantastic! ☺
A few years ago if you had asked me if I would continue in school past my Bachelor’s Degree I would have said no. After all, what photographer needs a Masters degree? I’m so glad my plans have changed however, and it feels good to be learning again. My long-term goals with the degree are…..

*Continue working within Creative Services for a few years doing Graphic Design and Photography. Learn from my peers about web design.
*Transition into a marketing position, working closely with the Creative Services team.
*Find work in an advertising firm and learn how things function within the world of advertising and PR.
*Grow my photography and graphic design business on the side.
*Open my own boutique company and hire local artists to work closely with me on print and web-based campaigns.
*Learn Spanish and French on the side

I can’t wait until Graduation day! KU Grad School Class of 2012 graduating with a Masters in Marketing Communications. ☺

I had to share....

I saw this on bee creative and I had to share!

Most of you may have already seen this email passed around, but i thought it would be a nice reminder :)
Recently, in large French city, a poster featuring a young, thin and tan woman appeared in the window of a gym. It said:

THIS SUMMER DO YOU WANT TO BE A MERMAID OR A WHALE?

A middle aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman on the poster, responded publicly to the question posed by the gym.

To Whom It May Concern:
Whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, sea lions, curious humans). They have an active sex life, they get pregnant and have adorable baby whales. They have a wonderful time with dolphins stuffing themselves with shrimp. They play and swim in the seas, seeing wonderful places like Patagonia, the Barren Sea and the coral reefs of Polynesia. Whales are wonderful singers and have even recorded CDs. They are incredible creatures and virtually have no predators other than humans. They are loved, protected and admired by almost everyone in the world.
Mermaids don't exist. If they did exist, they would be lining up outside the offices of Argentinean psychoanalysts due to identity crisis. Fish or human? They don't have a sex life because they kill men who get close to them not to mention how could they have sex? Therefore they don't have kids either. Not to mention who wants to get close to a girl who smells like a fish store?

The choice is perfectly clear to me; I want to be a whale.

P.S.. We are in an age when media puts into our heads the idea that only skinny people are beautiful, but I prefer to enjoy an ice cream with my kids, a good dinner with a man who makes me shiver and a coffee with my friends. With time we gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room it distributes out to the rest of our bodies. So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy. Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, Good gosh, look how smart I am.

How fantastic was that??

5:00

The floors are finished! YAY! I went home this morning and dropped off Mia in the bathroom and opened up a few windows to vent out the fumes a bit. Photos will be coming soon!
I can't wait until 5:00 when I get to go home. I can't move anything until Spencer gets home at 7:30, but I plan to order some chinese for dinner and maybe put our bookcase together while Mia romps around outside chasing birds & squirrels. :)
She was sooo happy this morning when we pulled into the driveway and she saw that we were at her house! Although she wasn't so happy when I put her into the bathroom with her kennel and turtle toy. She doesn't like when we have to leave....

To get me through my morning i've been listening to Sara Bareilles, "Love on the Rocks". You should check it out!

August 24, 2009

A sneak peek... :)

In 24 hours Spencer and I will be able to go home. I am ecstatic and can not wait. I miss our home. Our daily routine. Our little life that just the two of us know about….
We stopped by on Friday to see the floors post-sanding. Here is what greeted us…..

Are these not the most beautiful floors ever! The guy said that if we had asked him to come in and lay down floors like this then it would have cost a pretty penny. He said we were lucky to have such a beautiful surprise hidden beneath our carpet. ☺
We picked the finish we wanted put down. This was still wet, and it utilized a flash on the camera but the floors look like this with a little less of an orangy/yellow cast to them. The little brown box was there because we have dark black-brown furniture and wanted to have a comparison point.

We saw the color on Sunday and it is BREATHTAKING. We LOVE it. They do the final clearcoat this afternoon and we go home tomorrow! I can’t wait to take pictures! Our final thing to finish everything (other than putting furniture in) will be to put a quarter round at the bottom of all the trim (There used to be one and they tore it off when they laid the carpet which is why it looks jagged) and put crown molding up. I can’t wait!!!!

Mia can't wait either! I think she misses her big backyard where she can run free of the leash. :)

Sunny Side Up!

This morning I worried I may not be able to write my sunny-side-up list. My morning has been less than fantastic. We are getting our floors refinished starting today. Our appointment was at 8am. The guy was going to show up and clear off a small space so he could lay down the colors and let us choose which one we wanted….well 8 came and went and then it was 9:00. He was an hour late. I tracked down his number and called and he told me he would be there around 11:30-12 but had to finish a 650 square foot job in Blue Springs first! (Blue Springs is about 30 minutes away) Needless to say, I was pissed. I had missed an hour of work, and we had woken up early to make sure our bed was off the floors and in the kitchen! Grrrr pissed off was an understatement for sure!
I was still mad as I turned on my computer and started to work, and then little rays of sunshine started spilling onto my computer screen from my blog feed. All of the lovely ladies that I read about each morning. Thoughts, feelings, opinions…and then a marvelous thing happened…I started to get excited about getting the floors done again and I just can’t wait to see it all finished! My rainclouds have gone away and I am here for the Sunny Side-Up Thurdays feeling great! Here are the things making me smile this week…

New Furniture! I can’t wait for the big Ikea delivery truck to deliver our dressers, my vanity and our wardrobes! I am so excited to see it all and make our home the way we want it!

Sonic, coffee & Bacon. I went there this morning to grab some coffee and a breakfast sandwich for me and the boy. I took Mia along so she was out of the way in case the guy came. She promptly stuck her head out the window and the Sonic cook saw her. He told her he was out of bacon because she had the begging eyes on and she cocked her head at him in that cute melt-your-heart kind of way. He broke down and went, “awwwww (in a baby voice) ok…I’ll get you some bacon” She sniffed it for a good 5 minutes and then gulped it down in 3.5 seconds. Apparently she is a big fan of bacon. ☺

Our floors. They may be frustrating right now but I can’t wait to see them in all of their natural beauty!

Sunny Side-Up Thursdays

Top Chef Las Vegas. First episode last night and I already have people I love and people who I want to throw the remote at. I think it’s going to be an amazing season and I was literally drooling over some of the food. (Luckily I had already made some yummy and HEALTHY roasted veggies for dinner) Wolfgang Puck was the guest judge and he was cracking me up! I love it when they have a good sense of humor. ☺ I can’t wait for next week!!!!

New. Season. Project. Runway TONIGHT!!!!! My favorite show is back! It didn’t get canceled and they didn’t change the format! I AM SO EXCITED!!!!! I hope they do another dog clothes episode!

And in other news Mia did something I was not happy with this morning. She was outside and I went to let her in. She looked at me and then bent down her head. I started hearing this buzzing as she started sprinting for the door. In 2.5 seconds she ran the length of the yard, bolted up the steps and ran through the door as the buzzing grew louder and she ran inside before I could catch her. She bolted into the bedroom where she promptly spit out, and began playing with, the biggest cicada I have ever seen in my life! I screamed, being the girl I am and threw a cup on top of it. Mia was soooo rpoud of herself….silly puppy. PS-Spencer disposed of the cicada outside and he flew away. He’s a good boyfriend. ☺

Stay Sunny-Side-Up!

My office

I need your help. I have painted my office a pretty shade of green and I need help finding some custom artwork to hang on the walls! I would like to stay in the softer color palette. Lots of white and green and lots of images that make me feel good and inspired. So far I have found this work from Lucky Bluebird Art .

Do any of you know some great Etsy artists I should check out?

Bwahahahaha Freaking hilarious!

The lovely K. Law! posted these this morning. She got them from a friend of a friend and they are just too funny to not re-post! hahahaha hope you have a fantastic Wednesday!

*Why is a school zone 20 mph? That seems like the optimal cruising speed for pedophiles.

*I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

*More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can't wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that's not only better, but also more directly involves me.

*Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

*Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.

*The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again.

*A recent study has shown that playing beer pong contributes to the spread of mono and the flu. Yeah, only if you suck at it.

*Lol has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say".

*I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

*Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".

*MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

*Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

*Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty and you can wear them forever.

*I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

*Bad decisions make good stories.

*Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that their profile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who just got the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do!

*Is it just me or do high school girls get sluttier & sluttier every year?

*If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever got together, their offspring would probably just be completely invisible.
Why is it that during an ice-breaker, when the whole room has to go around and say their name and where they are from, I get so incredibly nervous? Like I know my name, I know where I'm from, this shouldn't be a problem...

*You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day.

*There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far."

*I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren't watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?'

*I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

*I like all of the music in my iTunes, except when it's on shuffle, then I like about one in every fifteen songs in my iTunes.

*Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

*It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.

*I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

*I think that if, years down the road when I'm trying to have a kid, I find out that I'm sterile, most of my disappointment will stem from the fact that I was not aware of my condition in college.

*Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my ass everyone can find and push the Snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time every time...

*I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lites than Kay.

*The other night I ordered takeout, and when I looked in the bag, saw they had included four sets of plastic silverware. In other words, someone at the restaurant packed my order, took a second to think about it, and then estimate d that there must be at least four people eating to require such a large amount of food. Too bad I was eating by myself. There's nothing like being made to feel like a fat bastard before dinner.

I wish it were still the weekend....

Friday I left work a little early because our new fridge was being delivered! They came and installed the new fridge, but to my dismay couldn’t take the old one! I had 2 fridges in my kitchen! I immediately posted to Craigslist with photos and ended up selling it to a girl on Saturday morning. I was so relieved! I also did a Senior Photoshoot Saturday morning and got some GREAT photos! I’m in the editing process right now but hopefully it won’t take me too terribly long to catch up! Saturday I also decided to sell the air conditioning unit from our backroom. Our backroom is a converted room that used to be a screened-in porch so it gets pretty hot back there. Last week Spencer ran air conditioning though and now its almost kind of cold! A young man who just moved to KC bought the air conditioner Sunday afternoon and seemed to be pretty happy with his purchase. :)

In addition to photographs and selling things I also watched a LOT of Lost. It’s such a great show and I am soooo hooked! I’m up to the 3rd season now but from here on out I have to watch them with Spencer since he has only seen the first 2 seasons. ☺

We also found our bedroom furniture! Last time I had looked at the Ikea website everything they had available online was uber modern and not really in my taste. When I looked again on Friday night I completely changed my mind! They had a lot more available and we ended up finding an entire system for our bedroom! All in black-brown we found a tall 2-door standing wardrobe, 2 dressers we will stack, a vanity and a tall 1-door wardrobe. I can’t wait to get everything!

Thursday of this week we are getting our floors re-finished FINALLY! We are going to stay at my moms house for the weekend while everything gets done. I’m actually really excited for it! My sister, brother-in-law and grandma are all coming into town as well for my sisters birthday and so all of us will be at moms house! I think it should be a lot of fun and a nice weekend of family topped off with going home to new flooring! ☺

My only negative point right now is that it’s a rainy dreary Monday and I really wish I was still at home lying in bed. ☺ I love sleeping in the rain.

Wardrobes

So, Spencer and I's house is wonderful and we love it! It is however lacking in the closet department. We would like to buy a nice simple wardrobe for our bedroom but we can't find anyone that makes them anymore! I know Ikea makes a few models but I would really like it to be natural wood and I don't want it to be too modern. Just simple and clean lined. HELP!

August 13, 2009

Sunny Side-up please. :)

Life is good, great and wonderful. I recently realized I have spent way too much time worrying about past mistakes, fretting over things I can’t change and agonizing over what time it is and how long until the weekend. I am missing out on truly great things and wearing myself down from worry and frustration.
I have decided to let the past lie. To forgive myself when things don’t go as planned and to work toward being happy. Now, don’t get me wrong. I am not depressed, and I do not have any big dark secrets in my life right now. There has not been a recent event in my life that has thrown me into despair. It is simply the daily grind of living and me not letting myself let things go and move on. I think it’s affected me in more ways than I want to believe, and the days slip by much quicker than they used to. I don’t want to look back and think of all the time I wasted waiting for the clock to change and time to pass.
I want to embrace the moments and live my life happily. To have each precious minute mean something. To let go of anger, frustration, boredom and just be happy.
I have made a vow to myself to remember each morning that it is going to be a good day. To start my day out with positive affirmation and remember that I am truly blessed to have the life I do. To get ready and take the time to laugh at Mia throwing her toy as I curl my hair. To never forget to kiss Spencer good-bye on my way out the door. To relax and breathe deep on my drive to work, and to walk in with a smile and a friendly hello.
I think that bad moods are self-inflicted. They start the second you wake-up and if you don’t kick them in the butt they grow and fester. They affect your day and all of a sudden another things goes wrong and you fall down faster than a dog riding in a car.
I am going to live happy now, and this past week has been a testament to my promise of a happy life. I’ve started out each day positively and that feeling has lasted throughout the day. I don’t lie in bed worrying about things. I fall asleep quickly and drift off into blissful dreams. So, if any of you see me being negative remind me that its not worth it and I need to let go.
To help myself I’m starting “Sunny-Side-up Thursdays”. A list of the things that have brought me cheer this week, and made me feel fantastic! Every week I will post my Sunny Side-Up list. Why Thursdays? Because in college I used to have a tradition where me and all the girls ordered Chinese and watched Grays Anatomy together. Thursday nights were a ritual and something I looked forward to every week. Now I have a new Thursday ritual and I couldn’t be more excited!

Sunny-Side-Up Thursdays

Spencer and I received our “congratulations on your new house” surprise from the government! We’re going furniture shopping tonight!

I got some new music this week. Sara Bareilles, Black Eyed Peas and Matt & Kim have been playing non-stop since Wednesday and making me want to dance!

I ordered some beautiful necklaces on Etsy and they finally came in! White Owl (on left) and CosmicGirl

I won the The Brightside Project! I get my choose of gold post earrings from Viv + Ingrid …My only problem is choosing which pair I want! What do you guys think?

This little girl. She gets into everything and she tore a hole in the bottom of my Cherry Limeade cup the other day spilling limeade EVERYWHERE… but I love her and I smile a little more everyday when I see her.

Lost. I always wanted to watch it but I couldn’t justify spending the money to get the first season. Luckily my favorite thing ever, the Roku box from Netflix, has the first 4 seasons on it right now! I’m almost through the first season and I am HOOKED!

This was a long post, but it made me feel good and made me smile to write. I hope it brought a smile to your face as well, and don’t forget to live your life “sunny-side-up today!

.xo.

Stunning and Immaculate

4 years ago I read, The Lovely Bones." The book is stunning. It made me think about life, and told an earth-shattering story at the same time. It doesn't hide anguish, soften the feeling of terror or wrap anything in a neat little package. It's raw, jaw-dropping and honest.
Yesterday a friend told me that this amazing book is being made into a movie. Directed by, the incredible, Peter Jackson this movie is one that I can not wait to see. The trailer almost made me cry as I watched it, and I wonder how honest they are going to be when they film the graphic scenes.

Stunning book. I recommend it to anyone and everyone! But, make sure you have some tissues handy!
(PS-The trailer isn't much a spoiler. You find out the concept of the book from the very first paragraph.)

Princess and the Frog

I have always loved classic Disney animation, and have missed it as Pixar became the new face of Disney. Yes, some of my favorite movies are Wall-E and Finding Nemo, but the hand-drawn element had disappeared. I would watch movies like The Little Mermaid and Beauty & the Beast staring in awe as the gorgeous images came to life, knowing how much time had been put into each individual cel. Now with Disney's newest movie it's all back! And in addition, they are introducing the first african-american Disney princess! (and did i mention, Oprah Winfrey provides the voice for her mother?!)

Just look at this beautiful art!

It makes me want to go home and watch The Little Mermaid, Oliver & Company, Beauty & the Beast and Lady & the Tramp (a FEW of my favorites)! What was your favorite class animation films?

Photos!

Mia and I had a photoshoot yesterday after work. Photos coming soon!

FREEDOM!

I officially have no obligations. No weddings, no classes, no family parties...absolutely nothing! Well... at least until the end of the month.

I feel like I have been going 800 different directions at once! The following is a rundown of the last 2 months of my life....

* I moved into my first home! HUGE deal! Lots of packing, cleaning and painting. So totally worth it!
* We got our little baby Mia and she has filled our house with dog toys and laughter. Potty training a puppy is pretty hard, and this little girl is WAY too smart for her own good
* I helped throw my friend's bridal shower, and made the invitations, decorations and thank you cards! LOTS of work, but they turned out really really cute!
* I threw Laura's bachelorette party which was a full day excursion! The other girls tried to help where the could but told me they had never been very good at planning things and let me take the reins. It ended up being a great night and I think Laura really loved it!
* Painting. We painted every room in our house!
* Summer school. I took a class on communicating sustainability this summer. We only met for 2 weekends over the summer but our teacher required around 4-5 hours reading each week and blog posts that took me entire days to do! We also had a big final project in Lawrence, KS at the homeless shelter so I had to drive down to Lawrence (45 minutes) 3 different times to talk to people and take photographs. It was the biggest pain in the butt class of my life, and WAY more work than I signed on for! The whole class was so stressed out we could have snapped at any given moment!
* I turned 25!!!!! I became a quarter of a century old and celebrated with an amazing boyfriend, a fabulous soon-to-be family and amazing friends!
* I saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and it did not disappoint! I LOVED IT!
* I'm sure there were many more great moments...I just can't think of them at the moment!

Laura's wedding was this past weekend and I was honored to stand next to her as a bridesmaid! I made her programs so the few days leading up to the wedding were pretty feverish with printing and trimming programs! I will post photos soon. Everyone seemed to love them!
The wedding was beautiful. We went up on friday (the other bridesmaids and myself) and we spent the entire weekend celebrating Laura's last few days with the last name of Cavaness. She was really beautiful! I don't have any photos from the wedding, but here are a few from her Luau themed rehearsal dinner!

Laura (in the orange) and all the lovely bridesmaids!

Goin' to the chapel!

Laura's little puppy Marley. She made me miss my little Mia sooo much!

Overall, its been a great summer! I saw people I haven't seen in years and i've really had a lot of fun times! Although, I am VERY excited to just lay on the couch this weekend in my new house and watch Lost. :)
